Community Ministries

We want to be an extension of the arms of Christ into our community. We have created ministries to help us serve those who live with alongside us.
 – For more than 20 years, New Hope has opened its doors (and hearts) to feed the hungry. Mondays through Fridays, we distribute groceries to our brothers and sisters in need and show the love of Christ. This ministry is funded solely by the tithes and offerings of the members.
– Since 1989, we have been delivering hot lunch meals to the elderly and disadvantaged throughout the Birmingham area. Each weekday, we travel the city to feed the hungry and spread the love of Jesus Christ.
– We are committed to extending the love of Christ to our incarcerated brothers and sisters. Each week, our ministry goes into the Birmingham Women’s Release Center to teach and preach the Word of God. We also celebrate holidays and special occasions with the inmates and host an annual Angel Tree Drive that provides Christmas toys to their children.
 – New Hope is proud to offer a modern, 62-unit independent living apartment complex for energetic seniors. The Garden of Hope is an oasis for seniors who want to live among their peers in a safe environment staffed with a full-time manager and event coordinator.
– Senior citizens from across Birmingham are invited to come out for fellowship, fun and hot meals. Each weekday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the elderly can enjoy a day filled with activities special for them. Limited transportation is available in some cases.
– As one of the oldest church-owned daycare and preschools in the city, New Hope has years of experience equipping children ages 6 weeks to K-4 with educational and spiritual knowledge. We have state-of-the-art facilities at both our southwest and South Avondale locations and follow the prestigious Abeka curriculum with convenient hours of 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
